Hannah to speak at TEDx Pittsburgh

TED is a conference focusing on “Ideas Worth Spreading in ‘T’echnology, ‘E’ntertainment and ‘D’esign.” TEDx Pittsburgh is a local version of this event, produced by a team of volunteers. This year’s theme is “Awakening,” and the line up is busting at the seams with relevant topics such as including minority voices, the role of independent media in creating a better world, the importance of listening to better mental health, the importance of inclusive innovation and the power of seeing possibility and working towards it. Fit Principal Hannah du Plessis will be one of the speakers.

If you are free June 4th, please join us for a day of inspiration at the Byham Theater in downtown Pittsburgh. For more details, visit the official TEDx site.

The shape of an instrument informs its sound. The shape of Hannah’s work was forged in South Africa under the oppressive political system of apartheid. For the last three decades she has pursued the question: “what does it take to create a life-affirming world?” She has done so as community leader, design professional, researcher, facilitator, professor, improviser and artist.
